Full-time Position

Position Summary
The Pharmacy Manager is responsible for overseeing all clinical, operational, and financial
functions of an independent community pharmacy. This role ensures safe and accurate
dispensing of medications, delivers high-quality patient care, maintains regulatory
compliance, and drives business growth while fostering strong relationships within the
community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clinical & Patient CarAccurately review and dispense prescriptions in accordance with state and federal
    regulations.
  • Provide comprehensive medication counseling and clinical services, including immunizations and medication therapy management (MTM).
  • Identify and resolve drug therapy problems, interactions, and adherence concerns.
  • Collaborate with prescribers to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily pharmacy workflow, staffing schedules, and task delegation.
  • Supervise, train, and evaluate pharmacists, technicians, and support staff.
  • Maintain compliance with DEA, Board of Pharmacy, CMS, and third-party payer regulations.
  • Manage controlled substance inventory and documentation.
  • Ensure proper medication storage, record keeping, and quality assurance
    procedures.
  • Maintain pharmacy cleanliness, organization, and safety standards

Business & Financial Oversight

  • Manage pharmacy inventory, purchasing, and wholesaler relationships.
  • Monitor reimbursement trends, third-party contracts, and DIR/GER fees.
  • Oversee billing, adjudication, and resolution of insurance claim issues.
  • Develop strategies to increase prescription volume and clinical service revenue.
  • Analyze financial reports, margins, and cost control measures.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local providers and community
    partners.

Community Engagement

  • Promote pharmacy services within the community.
  • Lead health screenings, immunization clinics, and outreach events.
  • Foster a patient-centered culture focused on personalized care.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution or equivalent
    like RPh.
  • Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in the state of practice.
  • Immunization certification.
  • Strong knowledge of independent pharmacy operations and third-party billing.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of pharmacy retail experience.
  • Experience with independent pharmacy software systems (Pioneer specifically).
  • Experience with 340B preferred.
