Schedule: one shift weekly or every other week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Retail Pharmacy Technician to join
our pharmacy team. The Pharmacy Technician will assist the pharmacist in all
daily operations, including preparing prescriptions, maintaining inventory, and
delivering excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. This role
requires strong organizational skills, attention to accuracy, and a passion for
helping people.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and
efficiently
• Enter prescription information into the pharmacy system
• Manage and label medication containers and packaging
• Process insurance claims and handle third-party billing issues
• Answer phones and respond to customer inquiries with professionalism
• Maintain accurate patient records and confidentiality in accordance with
HIPAA
• Receive, stock, and monitor inventory of medications and pharmacy supplies
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions for over-the-counter and
prescription sales
• Comply with all state and federal regulations, as well as store policies and
procedures
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification required
• Active Pharmacy Technician license/registration in MS
• Prior retail or pharmacy experience preferred
• Proficiency with pharmacy software and computer systems
• Excellent communication, customer service, and multitasking skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout shift
• Use of hands and fingers to operate pharmacy equipment and handle
medications
Work Environment:
• Retail pharmacy environment with direct customer interaction
• May involve working evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
